Life History:
It all started when Trent was born on May 17, 1965, Trent Reznor became unto the world. In the early 1970's Trent's parents divorced and he went to live with his maternal Grandparents (who eventually would raise him) while his freshly delivered sister, Tera, went to live with her mother. As a child, Trent was fairly outgoing, he was in the Boy Scouts (hard to believe isn't it?), he thrashed with the best of them, he built model airplanes, and he played the piano (so says his Grandfather). Trent's piano teacher (Rita Beglin) compared Trent's pianism abilities to that of Harry Connick Jr. Not bad for a little punk...In high school Trent was a clean cut, "handsome," young man. In his school jazz and marching bands, he played the tenor sax, along with some keyboarding. Trent was also voted best in drama by classmates and performed in local rock bands. Trent Reznor was NOT, I repeat, NOT, abused as a child, and has never claimed to such a horror. So don't even think about it! Trent then went on to play in many small 80's bands, such as The Urge, Option 30, The Innocents, Slam Bam Boo, Hanson: the Movie, Lucky Pierre (Kevin McMahon's [headman for Prick] band), The Exotic Birds, and "The Problems," from the movie "The Light of Day" where he was in the backup band for Joan Jett and Michael J. Fox. After his stint in playing in several local and cover bands, Trent started his own band and released a demo to TVT records. Trent was then cleared to create a full length album that he would release under the TVT label. The story after the release of "Pretty Hate Machine" basically lives on, and doesn't need to be written down for it to be known. (plus, I have to work on other parts of my site!)
